Winter is a great time to pull out your plum and berry lipsticks. These shades are absolutely perfect for the cooler makeup tones that come out during the winter season. I am very fair complected so I find that these shades of berry and plum cool down and brighten my complexion.
First up is the Maybelline Super Stay 14 hour lipstick in the shade Fuchsia Forever. I got this lipstick at Walmart for $6.94. This was my go to lipstick for the longest time. It’s a beautiful berry pink that leans into the magenta family and the long wear is great. It may not be 14 hours, but the lipstick will last you all day with just 2 applications.
Next up is the Em Cosmetics soft matte lip cream in the shade Passion Berries. It’s a bit more pricey at $15 and can be purchased at emcosmetics.com. This lipstick is very similar to the Maybelline lipstick, just a bit darker. If we’re talking about taking a look from day to night, I would say to wear the Maybelline lipstick during the day then rock Passion Berries at night. The pigmentation of the lipstick is phenomenal and it is great for long wear.
The Covergirl Outlast Longwear lipstick in the shade Vixen Violet strays away from the plum/berry family slightly, but it is a great purple shade to try out this winter and maybe even take into the summer. I got it at Walmart for $6.86. The color payout on this lipstick is impressive and it does pull slightly toward berry shades. This lipstick makes a bold statement and is a great compliment for cooler makeup shades.
Finally I have this amazing MAC lipstick in the shade Cyber. This lipstick costs $17 and I highly recommend getting a lip liner to go along with it. The lipstick can be a bit uneven in application, but the liner helps to give you an even base. It is a great dark plum and it suits nightwear best.
Start experimenting and find the perfect plum or berry to complete your fabulous look this winter!
Sometimes you have to treat yourself. I’m sure that just like me, you all like to splurge a little bit every now and then. I can tell you one thing, this MAC lipstick in the shade Diva is worth the splurge. This lipstick costs $17 and it is worth every penny.
It is a perfect matte burgundy color. The lipstick goes on smooth and it is perfect for all day wear. It can be a little drying, but I make sure to keep my lips moisturized throughout the day and it’s perfectly fine. I would recommend using a lip liner just to keep your lipstick from bleeding during the day.
MAC lipsticks will always hold a special place in my heart. The pigment is fantastic and they are great for long-wear. With the Holiday season coming around the corner this is the perfect product to add to your wish list, or maybe even treat yourself this year! Either way, you’re sure to look fabulous rocking Diva this winter.
Call me crazy but the temperature dropped like three degrees, football season started, and all I can think of is fall! As soon as fall comes around I am ready to bring out my red lips, and I wanted to brag about a few of my all time favorites.
I have been obsessed with the Kate Moss collection of Rimmel London lasting finish lipsticks for a long time. I absolutely love the smoothness of the formula. These lipsticks are not drying at all. They are my go to lipsticks in the winter and fall for tailgates and nights out. I have these lipsticks in the shades 111, 11, and 107. I bought them all at Ulta for $5.49 which is a steal for how fantastic these lipsticks are!
111 is a great bright and bold true red. 11 leans more toward a shade of deep burgundy. 107 is my ultimate go to! I have replaced this lipstick half a dozen times because I’ve used it so much. It’s a deep red with some magenta undertones.
I would recommend using a lip liner with all of these to keep your lipstick from bleeding throughout the day. I completely recommend these for long wear. I wear these to tailgates and football games and only have to reapply once. I can’t wait for the first home game of the season so my fabulous bold red lip can make a comeback.
